Spotlight on our new 100% natural reusable make up pads

Nil harm, nil waste - we believe this should extend to all areas of our life and especially where waste has been a problem. The beauty sector is one area that needs a shakeup.

We also want to make it easier. Nil effort.

Nil Makeup Remover Wipes

Makeup remover pads made of super soft specially felted pure organic NZ wool. These are little boxes of magic. Just need water, rinse and repeat. Nil effort. Nil waste.

They are truly eco friendly from production to end of life. Organic and compostable. AND they work super well.

These are our latest super sustainable hero product because every step of the process is benefiting our planet.

To start, we make them from wool which is normally discarded and not used by other producers, stopping it from reaching the landfill.

They work really well. Remove makeup off with water alone! Rinse, repeat. The makeup pad is soft, absorbant.. Making it gentle on your skin too.

Washable and reusable they wash and dry quickly - energy efficient. Use multiple times.

Then once worn out they are completely biodegradable and compostable! Pop in your flower garden or in the compost.

We love our Nil organic wool makeup pads. We know you will too.

Spotlight on wool

Wool is natural, renewable and biodegradable.

To bring our Nil makeup remover pads to you we partnered with innovative local company Woolchemy, led by two women founders. They created a ‘neweZorb’ process - an eco-friendly wet treatment that makes sheep wool ultra absorbent and super-hydrophilic. Our NZ making team then take the special felted wool and cut it perfectly to size and package them. 100% NZ made.

Some great, local and sustainable science right there in every box.

We’re proud to be using NZ wool and partnering with local innovators.

But, unfortunately the NZ wool industry is struggling. Did you see the recent investigation by TV journalists on TVNZ?

Founder of Woolchemy, Derelee Potroz-Smith was included. She says of NZ wool: “We could be making so much of a difference and leading the way internationally.”

Kiwi carpet-maker Cavalier Bremworth also love wool. They say it’s “our miracle fiber”. Recently they announced from next year they will stop using synthetics in favour of wool and natural fibres. They say synthetics have a “negative impact on people’s health and the planet” and wool is strong, sustainable and is a safer fiber to have in our homes.
